Although it’s only August, you can feel there’s a new coolness in the air, with Autumn just around the corner. I therefor thought it would be nice to draw your attention to a small but oh so lovely Nordic children’s wear brand who specialise in premium natural materials for comfort and durability in a minimalistic, timeless design.
Minimalisma was founded in Denmark in 2011 by Maja Akraberg. She combines her long term fashion background with a passion for quality children’s wear and fair production when designing for little ones.
The collection is available in a delightful muted Nordic colour palette, with 8 shades including nautical stripes. The design is simple with the main focus being on its premium quality. Minimalisma uses only natural materials such as silk, wool, alpaca, cashmere and pure, organic cotton.
The knitwear by Minimalisma is naturally stretchy and flexible, meaning that the garments can be enjoyed a little longer than average baby clothes. Last time we mentioned Minimalisma on Little Scandinavian, back in 2013, the brand only catered for up to 2 years, where as now the collection goes from newborn up to 6 years. Quality, comfort, well-being, and mobility are the key words of the collections.
Durability is in particular important whilst selecting materials, designing and crafting each garment. In a world where ‘fast fashion’ is everywhere, Minimalisma looks to create clothing that can be passed down from generation to generation.
