Best hairdresser in London for Nordic hair

Hair salons in London have been closed for what seems like an eternity and I could not have been more delighted with the news that they are reopening on the 12th of April.

But lets wind back time, to the 15th of October last year, when I had my hair last done at Stil Salon. In fact, it was my first time visiting. And, as it soon became apparent,

a few things set Stil Salon apart from others
The friendliness.

I had done my research in advance and I was left with an impression about a sleek and stylish salon, located in leafy Notting Hill. An award winning expert team, using cutting edge technique based on the latest fashion and hair trends. It all can make you a bit nervous before visiting.

However, I was surprised by just how welcoming and ‘normal’ everyone was. Yes, the salon is bright and stylish but there’s more a positive and friendly vibe to this place than anything else.

The little details

Subtle things, like a smooth booking experience, the way you are greeted when you walk in the door, the lush products used, the treatments they offer which is like a SPA treatment.

It all adds to the experience!

The colour & cut

How often do you find that you don’t love your hair after a salon visit? I’ve been there. You just nod, get out of the chair, pay and leave. But it doesn’t have to be like this!

My colourist, Anna, spent time doing a proper consultation, identifying whether I was ‘cool’ or ‘warm’ to find the correct shade of blonde to suit me. The colour we landed on highlighted the tone of my skin, and made my blue eyes really stand out. To make it look natural Anna mixed ash with creamy tones to create dimension throughout and slightly lighter at the front. I couldn’t have been happier with the result!

She was clearly no stranger to blonde, Nordic hair and how to transform dull, tired strands into glossy locks that light can bounce off of.

For my haircut Jack was undoubtedly the best stylist for the job. In fact, the best I have had in years. First he gave my long and heavy hair a much needed good trim before layers were added to create shape, give volume, movement and texture. The result was a smooth and soft look.

If, like me, you have been googling ‘best hairdresser in London for blonde hair’, look no further. Swedish Christel and her team provide expert advice, styling and cuts you have been looking for. If you have any questions, please leave it in the comment section below.

I can’t wait to revisit Stil Salon in Notting Hill, the perfect place to relax, unwind and give your hair some much needed attention and care in stylish Scandi chic surroundings.

Note: Papercup and face mask (as seen in photos) to adhere to Coronavirus guidelines at the time. The salon felt safe to visit and with lockdown lifted I wouldn’t hesitate going back.
