In my head Polarn O Pyret has always been around. Perhaps that’s my perception of the Swedish clothing brand as the company was founded in Scandinavia a year before I was born. But one thing is for sure after 40 years of playfulness; the stripes will never fade.
And so we do get quite nostalgic when POP pulls out a few pictures from their archive. In fact, back in 2012 we shared some great shots with the post Polarn O Pyret anno 1976 in pictures, showing that the original stripy red and blue style was as current then as it is now.

For forty years, Polarn O. Pyret has created clothes that allow children to be children regardless of gender. Over the years the brand has gone through various of fashion decades, without changing the winning recipe; bright and functional clothes, timeless in its design with quality good enough to last.
Today, the collection includes a range of functional everyday wear, from beachwear to skiwear. Over 30% of the range is organic and the brand prides itself on providing unisex children’s clothing for babies and children up to age 12 years.
“We are celebrating our anniversary by kicking off with fun spring garments in organic cotton to liven up the winter darkness. Our anniversary will be filled with a variety of surprises and playful stripy happenings such as birthday parties and more playful collections throughout the year” says Karina Lundell, Head of Design at Polarn O. Pyret.
Nevertheless, it’s the classic Polarn O. Pyret style we have grown so fond of and that still has a very special place in each and every collection, season after season.
Their much-loved rain jackets and wipe clean, easy to care rain trousers are wind and rain proof and packed with clever features. Their reflective stripe wellies are weighted at the base to help them stay on, have pull tabs to encourage independence and have extra deep grip, so are perfect for jumping in muddy puddles.
