25th The Waffle Day

The Waffle Day is a tradition that is celebrated in Denmark, Sweden and Norway on the 25th of March, which is also the Swedish “Vårfrudagen” (Our Lady Day), upon which waffles are typically eaten. Scandinavian vafler/våfflor are heart-shaped, thinner and crispier than their Dutch equivalent, served with a dash of sour cream and marmelade or fresh berries. Norwegians will serve the waffle with traditional caramel tasting, brown goats cheese.
