Scandinavian Children’s Fashion in the UK


Scandinavian children’s clothing is known for being made for kids who wants to be kids; playful and in a functional design, crafted in durable materials with a focus on the environment. And these are some of the brands available in the UK in 2018.

By visiting the children’s trade shows we’ll get a fairly god idea on what brands that will be available on the market. We’ve had a look at this season’s shows and here’s a round up on what’s to come, what we can look forward to. Hopefully the Scandinavian kids brands that will be in stores from August 2018.

Alba of Denmark
Alba of Denmark kidswear is all about offering children clothing in soft organic material in a unique design they would love to wear. The Alba universe has three main lines; Alba Baby, Alba Original for children and Alba Atracktion, designed especially for tweens.

Balloon Copenhagen
Balloon Copenhagen offers simple, beautiful jersey pieces for children age 2 to 7 years. There’s also a sweet baby collection from 0 to 24 months. The designer behind the brand has previously worked for Holly’s. The minimalistic balloon print is the signature of this Danish kids brand.

Fred’s World
Founded 35 years ago in 1983, Fred’s World is certainly no newcomer. The Danish kids brand creates durable and fun children’s clothes in unisex styles, that will withstand tear and wear. The brand’s focus on the the environment has resulted in numerous awards.

One We Like
With it’s Swedish roots One We Like create a sustainable alternative for children’s clothing with attitude. By making limited collections, with a few classic cut styles and top-notch prints, the brand successfully combine the conscious with the cool.

Smafolk
Danish Småfolk (meaning ‘little people’) has since 2005 designed happy and colourful children’s clothing with a touch of retro. The all over apple is the brand’s signature print. But also tractors, dinosaurs, animals and other playful characters are included in the collection of kidswear as well as children’s bedding and accessories.

Vild – House of Little
Vild – House of Little creates minimalist luxury basics catering for the age group from 0 to 5 years old. Expect bold and beautiful all over prints and the softest of garments, that the kids will love to wear. The brand with Scandinavian roots although London based also supports family and children’s charities.

By being exhibited in the UK these brands are sure to be picked up by trendy kids shops around the country. When that’s said there are of course buyers heading to CIFF kids in Copenhagen too, the ultimate place to go when looking for Scandinavian children’s fashion.
