KiSSe – Spanish traditional childrenswear with a touch of Danish simplicity

Children’s drawings are brought to life as prints on a small capsule collection of adorable children’s clothes made by KiSSe, a brand from Spain but with heritage and strong links to Denmark. Find out more about the brand and see sneak peek of their Spring Summer 17 collection here!

A brand that caught my attention when looking through the exhibitor list for CIFF kids (trade show in Copenhagen Feb 1-3) was KiSSe, a Spanish brand with a designer who is a Danish descent and who has grown up in close contact with both cultures. The founder, Christina Altuna explains;

“My partner is from Denmark and my children are both Danish and Spanish. At present I am working alone on the project, which makes it difficult to define the cultural identity. So the answer on where the brand is from is complex.”

KiSSe concept is to bring children’s illustrations to life, with all the love and energy that their lines and scribbles present, by using them as a all over print on children’s clothing. In a contrast to the playful and at times quirky print, the style of the garment is kept in a very classic shape, with tops, cardigans and little knee length skirts. Although there are classic pieces, the look is kept minimal with a playful twist, which is again typical for children’s Danish design.

The collection has been sustainably produced in the Iberian Peninsula, with special attention paid to the quality of materials, fabrics and finishes. The buttons of the knitted garments are handmade out of wood from olive, eucalyptus and boxwood. The garments are generous, soft and comfortable to wear; allowing children to move and express themselves freely when playing.

For babies and children up to age of 8.
