Surrounded by idyllic English countryside, Holme Grange Crafts Village situated less than 1 hour outside London, makes a perfect day out. With an inviting tea room with a large indoor and outdoor seating area, several independent arts and crafts shops, pasta making workshops, pottery painting and sewing classes -there’s something on offer for everyone.

The family friendly shopping destination is set up like a little village in historical farm buildings. Of the favourite shops we discovered was the Italian shop, with a great selection of Italian produce. When weather permits there’s a small outdoor seating area where one can enjoy some simple antipasti and a glass of red. Then further on it’s a knitting shop, a gift shop, a traditional sweet shop and then there’s Raspberry Red, a Scandinavian children’s shop in the middle of the English farm land.

Raspberry Red offers beautiful and bright children’s clothing from newborn to age 9, in addition to a wonderful selection of toys and children’s interior. Discover Scandinavian labels such as Phister and Philina, Aya Naya, Maileg and Brio. You might run into the owner, Lise. As a mum of two and with Danish family roots, she’s happy to assist and share her knowledge of children’s clothing, toys and interior you’ll find in store.

You can shop online at raspberryred.co.uk or pop by Holme Grange in Wokingham. (Free parking.)

On the other side of the road there is a Fruit and Veg ‘Pick your Own’ Farm, with seasonal fruit and vegetable for sale. There’s a lovely walk to a nearby lake and you might want to have lunch at the independent family run gastropub, the Crooked Billet.

Apparently the Holme Grange is Wokingham’s best kept secret. Well, not any more!
