Giveaway; Engel soft organic silk/wool basics from MamaOwl

mamaowl_wool_kidswear
In collaboration with lovely shop MamaOwl we are giving away an essential 2-piece set in silk/wool, in sizes up to 12 years.
Wool and silk is great all year around, worn as a thermal base layer in winter and on warmer days on itโ€™s own. Wool and silk is also perfect for nightwear. Wool helps regulating the body temperature and it can absorb much more liquid than cotton, keeping your little one comfortable and dry.

Post updated Monday 14th October 2013: Competition is now closed and the winner of the giveaway is announced!

Online shop MamaOwl was founded by a Danish mum, who saw a gap in the market. Where as wool as basics are widely available in Scandinavia, it can be hard to find the finest qualities in the UK. MamaOwl offers gorgeous children’s clothes and basics in soft organic wool and cotton, from labels such as Danish FUB, Serendipity and Joha.

Win a beautiful long sleeve top (available in 5 colours) and a sleeveless vest (natural white) by Engel, made of 30% pure silk and 70% organic merino wool. Luxurious soft and kind to skin. Available in sizes up to 12 years.

  1. We love wool as it keeps my little one snuggly and warm and nothing is better than the natural fibres – we try to protect her as much as possible from all the chemicals and toxins in the world these days! Any colour would be lovely in a size 2-3 for our daughter. x

  2. We love wool for the warmth, coolness, breathability, self cleaning ability, look……
and size 3-4 years would be perfect!

  3. I love wool. As a natural material it keeps my little bubba cool in the summer and toasty in the winter. There also is nothing cuter than a baby in wool. Little Beatrice would love any colour size 6-9 months x

  4. Mmm… We love wool <3

Because it's soft and natural, self-cleansing, warms you in the winter, and lets your skin breathe during summer. Wool is the best and there is definately a gap in the market!

We love organics because it makes us feel safe for us and our child and for our planet, which we all have a responsibility to preserve.
Besides Engels products sure are beautiful!

We didn't know the MamaOwl page before, but are happy to have found it. So now we subsribed and will be sure to tell friends and family about it to let them know where they can safely shop for christmas presents for our baby ๐Ÿ˜‰

Unfortunately the organic way of life is not always easy to manage on two student incomes, so we try our best by not consuming much, but a little luxury in the shape of these clothes would definately be welcomed ๐Ÿ˜€ We cross our fingers that we will be lucky <3

We're not really peculiar about the colour, but I think the favorite one might be red and orange. And in a size 92.

Very best regards and hope you have a great day,

    Daniel and Majken

  5. There is nothing like wool-silk thermals, itโ€™s the best summer and winter. Keeps bubs comfortable in all weather actually. We are in love with that red top and stripy leggings for (almost) 5 year old Lil, thatโ€™s just such a cool look. Are we lucky to win the drawโ€ฆ you would really make our day <3

  6. Warm, soft, breathable, natural, non-plastic… We’ve been dressing our kids in wool thermals whenever possible to get through the British winters. We’d love a striped red-orange size 4years, and vest same size or 12months. Many thanks and fingers crossed!

  7. My old sailing teacher used to say: “Wool stays warm even if it gets wet!” And it’s true ๐Ÿ™‚
If I’m lucky enough to win then please size 3-4 years (104) with blue-green stripes

  8. We use wool/silk because we experienced, that after we started using wool/silk, our childen were not so sick in in autumm and winther, as they normally were. Our daughter is normally sick 5-6 times during the winther, but now it is only 1-2 times, and not for at very long time. If we are so lucky, we wish for this in a size 12 years: http://www.mamaowl.net/collections/engel-wool-silk/products/copy-of-engel-organic-silk-wool-stripy-top-red-orange ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Wool and silk are great for kids for closest to skin as they are breathable and antibacterial. My boys are always wearing wool during winter, on it’s one when we’re at home and then with outer layer when outside.
Would love the blue/green in size 3 years/98. Thanks. ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. I love wool because it is natural, cosy, thermal and does not overheat. Combined with silk it feels comfortable to wear directly on the skin since it does not scratch.
My favourite piece is the silk/wool top in blue, seize 116 (5-6 years).

  11. My son has eczema, wool and silk are the best way of keeping his skin cool and itch free so we would love a red/orange or blue/green stripe in age 5-6 please!

  12. We love wool, and especially mixed with silk since my kiddoes seems to itch very fast! We had bought the woolen underwear we needed in Norway this summer we thought, but it turns out that the youngest one can’t use them cause they itch to much. Since it’s hard to find here in Belgium, we try our luck and would be happy to win a striped top blue&green size 140 ๐Ÿ˜‰

  13. Wool/silk are wondeful as they are soft, natural and allow the skin to breathe while keeping the body warm. If you choose us, please may we have the striped red/orange in 116, 5-6 years old. If not, the blue/green striped one. Thank you.

  14. We love wool (well wool and silk) as my girl thinks plain wool is ‘too scratchy’. They wear well, they keep her warm and they feel delicious. And it’s easy to clean. What could be better? We like the Green and Navy stripes in a size 6-8. If they came in adult sizes I’d buy them!

  15. Those are great pieces! love the composition, natural colors and overall design, i love to wear wool all year round myself, but rarely can i find wool pielces for children. I would love the striped red\orange top, in 128! Thanks.

  17. Always delighted to be introduced to new labels through your blog. Excellent children’s wool wear, just what little Archie needs for his first Skiing holiday in January. We love wool as it’s natural, keeps us cosy and looks lovely. If I win I would love the stripy cherry red top in size 1-2 years (86/92) and vest in the smallest size 2yrs. Kate

  18. Wool is the ONLY thing that keeps my very active 18-month old boy warm over the winter. It’s natural, lasts forever so you can give it someone else once your kids have outgrown it, it won’t pollute in a landfill somewhere and it lets the body breathe and it’s so nice and soft. I wear it myself all winter. If I should be so lucky to win, I’d love the size 2 year old in blue! I think that’s maybe size..86? Thank you so much!

  19. I prefer my kids to wear wool clothing during cold days. It’s warm and natural. Orange, 10yrs. Hope to win it!

  25. Choosing wool keeps my mind at ease that my child is not cold and is in good woolly “hands”. From last year I have a wool underwear (long arms shirt and long pants) for skiing, a really thin one, and that is all I am wearing underneath the ski jacket and pants. Et voilร ! …makes me ski better as well. ๐Ÿ˜‰
    Love your blog!

  26. I’ve been living in Sweden for nine years and only just getting to grips with winter clothing (….I’m from England after all….:). I now understand how important it is for little children to have the correct layers and that wool is the only material that will keep my little girls warm without making them sweat, which is perfect for a day’s outing in the forest ๐Ÿ™‚ I would love size 128 in orange /red – so pretty! Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

  31. As a New Zealander, I have had a similar problem – no trouble finding wool and merino wool at home, but over here it’s nearly impossible!!!
I’m so glad someone else spotted the gap in the market – will definitely check Mama Owl out. Wool is so much warmer and I prefer natural fabrics close to my children’s skin!

I have 2 toddlers so I’m going to make it easy
size 2-3 or 3-4 in any colour!

  32. I am very particular about materials for clothing, especially for the little ones – I am always checking labels in shops! Silk and wool are two of my favourites – they not only control your body temperature, they also feel amazing and look gorgeous on.
