Highlights from the trade show CIFF kids Children’s fashion for SS14

The trade show for children’s fashion, CIFF kids took place in Copenhagen last week, from Thursday to Sunday. The CIFF flags were waving happily outside the Bella centre, whilst the sun and sea reflected it’s glory in the windows of nearby Bella Sky. As part of the vibrant Copenhagen Fashion Week, CIFF exhibits women and mens fashion as well and kids wear in CIFF kids. There’s large stand of outdoor wear, such as Ticket to Heaven and commercial brands such as Name It. Then there’s more fashion led independent brands such as Mads Nørgaard, New Generals, GRO Company, Soft Gallery, Petit by Sofie Schnoor, Poppy Rose and How to Kiss a Frog.

How to Kiss a Frog Spring Summer 2014 offers a great selection of deliciously fun prints and colours. Available for babies and children up to 12 years. We especially love the horse print, that’s used for both frilled little playsuits and adorable dresses. The HTKAF boys wear is slightly preppy with shirts and shorts. Do pay attention to the baby boy range, with lots of cute little details.

New Generals is the ethicool brand that’s become known for creating black children’s clothes with strong graphical prints and asymmetrical shapes. New for Spring Summer 2014 is super cool children’s sneakers, the colour palette evolves around black, white and fuchsia and there’s a strong branding with the new star A logo appearing on several of the garments. New Generals also hosted a catwalk show during Copenhagen Fashion Week. Show report and more pictures to follow in a separate post.

CIFF kids also picked out favourite styles from the exhibitors and in collaboration with the Danish magazine COVER kids they styled and directed a daily trend show, quite a playful and creative show including children on roller skates and skate boards.

One of my favourite brands exhibiting at CIFF kids this season was Mads Nørregaard Copenhagen. The brand plays with styles and colours, prints and patterns in a fresh and fun way. Each garment has lots of details! Very fashion led and absolutely worth checking out!
