Knit with SandnesGarn inspired by Ryfylke, Norway

Ryfylke, part of the famous Norwegian Fjords in the Western part of Norway, is home to the Lysefjord and the mountain formations of Kjerag and Preikestolen (The Pulpit Rock). The area is excellent for mountain hiking and fjord tours by boat in the summer months. There’s hotels and B&B’s throughout the area, public transport (with ferries being a vital part of it) and the local cuisine of freshly cooked salmon and halibut is an attraction in itself. Sandnes Uldvarefabrik was established near the fjord in Sandnes in 1888. Today the factory is known as SandnesGarn and they produce both hand knitting and industrial yarn. As good designs are of vital part of the production they have a department with designers, developing knitting patterns to go along with the yarn. Further design patterns are purchased from freelance designers. The factory aims to be a world leader in yarn production and knitting design, keeping artificial fibers to a minimum and concentrating on quality natural products.
