How to get a table at Noma Copenhagen, the worlds best restaurant

noma Restaurant in Copenhagen - Main Entrance
Reserving a table at the highly awarded restaurant in the Danish capital can prove to be a challenge as Noma, blending the words Nordic and ‘mad’ (which means food in Danish), again is awarded top 3 Best Restaurants in the World of 2015. This is our best advice on how you can get a table!

Restaurant Magazine has announced The Worlds 50 Best Restaurants with Noma as the 3. best restaurant in the world in 2015. Last years position: 1 / Years on list: 8

The verdict: “A world-conquering Scandinavian restaurant that knows its place”

“It has been something of a whirlwind 12 months for René Redzepi and the team from Noma. As well as reclaiming the number one spot in the 2014 edition of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, Redzepi upped sticks and moved Noma to Japan for a hugely over-subscribed five-week pop-up earlier this year that received wild critical acclaim.

Now back on Danish soil, the Noma team has been re-energised by its experience in the Land of the Rising Sun, where indigenous ingredients such as raw botan ebi shrimp and wild duck were served to Tokyo diners with dramatic effect.

Now they have turned their attention to Redzepi’s beloved Nordic terroir once again. Dishes are in step with the seasons, such as milk curd and the first garlic of 2015; and the first green shoots of spring with a scallop marinade. And it sees Redzepi doing what he does best: playing with techniques such as fermenting and pickling for creations beyond most people’s eating perceptions.

Noma’s ability to remain fresh and to assimilate culinary cultures other than its own demonstrates not just the immense skill of Redzepi and his team, but also the global importance of Noma. It remains among the most influential restaurants of this century.”

Noma reservations advice updated for Summer and Autumn 2016
Noma is completely fully booked until the end of June this year. If you do want a table, ad yourself to the waiting list.

For reservations beyond June 2016, Noma will open booking according to the following schedule (date and time to be added to your calendar with notification!):

On Monday the 28th of March 2016 at 10:00 a.m. (CET), Noma begin accepting table reservations for the month of July 2016.

Make a booking or ad yourself to the waiting list by Noma’s Online booking As the Noma team is in Australia they do not take reservations via phone – online booking only.

Waiting List: If your desired date is unavailable, we encourage you to enter your name on the online waiting list (via the same online booking system) for the dates that would be convenient. Tables often become available as the date nears, when some guests need to cancel their bookings. Noma also offer guests a place on shared table, created in case a larger table becomes available.

If you don’t succeed in booking a table at Noma you might want to consider Carl Meyer‘s (founder and co-owner of Noma) new Restaurant Radio, with a much more affordable entry into Copenhagen’s conceptual dining scene. Another tip is booking for lunch rather than dinner, which could be less competitive.

Other notable restaurants on the The Worlds 50 Best Restaurants list includes;
The 25th best restaurant in the world, Fäviken, Järpen, Sweden

The 31st best restaurant in the world, Restaurant Frantzen, Stockholm, Sweden

The 45th best restaurant in the world, Restaurant Relæ, Copenhagen, Denmark

Also, just pushed out of top 50, Geranium in Copenhagen Denmark in 51st place is well worth a visit. It’s one of the best restaurants we ever dined at!

  1. Noma Reservation open with us November 2nd, 2016!

    Hello!

We have a reservation for 8 for dinner at Noma on November 2nd, 2016. The two groups of friends we were planning on going with dropped out, so at the moment we have myself and my friend Anna, and some friends saying maybe to join us. We have to fill our reservation or cancel it, but we really really would like to go and have planned our trip and everything already.

So- I was wondering if any of you might want to go! At the moment we’ll take whoever can confirm that they’re going first, whether it’s one person or a couple or a group of up to five or six. As long as we can fill our reservation!

We created a little website to help put together a group- http://www.NomaReservation.com so anyone can ‘meet’ us.

If you’d like to go, know anyone that can that would be incredible! We’re just looking for a way to get to go ourselves, and are happy to share it with some other food lovers.

    Thanks a lot!

    Dak

  2. Hello,

Thank you for the article! Actually few weeks ago I have successfully (finally) made a booking to dine at NOMA Copenhagen on the 11th April 2015, 12:30 noon for 4 people. However 1 of my friend cancelled to join us, leaving us with one empty seat.

Do you know how I could find anyone interested to join to dine with us? It will be great to share the table with people who are curious as well about Noma too :)! thank you!

ps: NOMA team just finished a month-length pop-up in Japan, so for the april dining you can expect new cuisines which were inspired from their pop-up in Japan! So it would be another whole new level! XD

  3. Dear Mustafa.

I’m desperately trying to get a table myself. 😉
You’ll need to contact the restaurant to book. Try putting your name on the waiting list, there are occasional cancellations. Or lunch is easier. Best of luck!

  4. Hello,

We would like to book a table for 3 people between 16 -23 August or 13th September.

I hope to hear from you soon,

    Thank you in advance,

    Best Regards,

  5. I would love to have the direct url for booking Noma. So far, we are only on the waiting list.
    Many thanks.

  6. I did it through the internet – we had tried the month before as well with no luck.

If you ever want to give it a try, let me know and I can give you the direct url for booking – that should give you a head start 😉

  7. Oh, wow! How did you manage that? Just by calling when they opened up for bookings?

  8. Luckily we managed to book a table last month – right before their new award, so we’re going for the first time in July (and our first night without children since the birth of our daughter one year ago) – I am SO excited (and of course I’ve already planned my outfit 😀 ).
