  46. P. S. The sourdough bread recipe s simply wonderful! It has really brightened up our mornings. I make our sourdough starter by mixing 50g of warm water with 25g of rye flour in a little ceramic pot. I cover this in cling film and leave it in a warm place (our Christmassy little sitting room beside the tree). The next day I add another 50g of warm water and 25g of rye flour. I keep doing this every day for a few days until I get bubbles and a lovely smell of fermentation. I can use it now and keep some to add to in the same way as an ongoing starter. It can even be put in the fridge once it has started bubbling and kept for a fortnight, and it still works.
