Ice Skating in London 2019/2020

It’s that time of the year again, when enchanting ice-covered surfaces, complete with festive music and fairy-lights start appearing, around the city of London.

In our household it’s become a tradition to go ice skating, at least once during the season, as a magical family day out. The girls as they are older now will often go on their own, together with friends.

Some ice rinks have sadly disappeared over the years, such as Canary Wharf and Broadgate Circle. But many are full in full swing, with some already open now. The outdoor ice skating season in London is short so make sure you plan and book your tickets now!

Here are some of our favourite London ice rinks, for Winter 2019/2020

Natural History Museum ice rink 19th of October until 12th of January, is a firm favourite, with its thousands of twinkling lights with the iconic London museum as a dazzling backdrop. Book your slot at nhm.ac.uk

Somerset House ice rink, 13th of November until 12th of January, will be celebrating 20 years of ice skating, when arguably London’s most beautiful ice rinks returns by transforming its grand court into a winter oasis and ushering in the festive season with a 40ft Christmas tree. Hampton Court Palace ice rink, 22nd of November until 5th of January, this open-air ice rink offers you the chance to glide across the ice under a star-covered sky while surrounded by spectacular views of the historic Tudor palace. Find out more at hamptoncourtpalaceicerink.co.uk

Tower of London ice rink 16th of November until 5th of January, offers a truly magical ambience of the fortress beside the Thames. The ice rink is bigger than ever this year with pop up bar and restaurant alongside. Find out more at toweroflondonicerink.co.uk

Skylight, Europes only rooftop ice rink.
