Danish Design at Milan Design Week

Experience the new designs from Milan Design Week from Republic of Fritz Hansen

Republic of Fritz Hansen, an exclusive brand with the mission to craft timeless design, was founded in 1872 in Denmark. The Fritz Hansen collection includes design classics and contemporary pieces by leading international designers such as Arne Jacobsen, Poul Kjærholm, Pierro Lissoni, Kasper Salto, Jaime Hayon and more.

During the last edition of the Milan Design Week Fritz Hansen showed off with multiple events and curated spaces to exhibit what was new and newsworthy. One of the more interesting spaces they created were the imaginary hotel lobby.

But also by subtle changes to existing design caught design lovers attention.

Children’s 7 series chair, by Republic of Fritz Hansen, designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1955. The most sold stackable chair in design history, a style icon, that’s also available in kids sizes, perfect for the children’s bedroom. The chair has been introduced in three new colours at the Milan Design Week. Note that the legs has also been given a coat of the fresh paint, for a playful twist on this design classic.

The new Ikebana vase is an extension of the existing vase designed by Jaime Hayon. This version not only works as a vase but also as a centrepiece on your dining or side table. It also holds the current wild flower trend. We like!

Did you know Arne Jacobsen designed knitwear? These visually striking cushions are not woven but knitted in 100% wool. Vertigo is the name of the cushions that were designed by Arne Jacobsen and which belong to the “Objects” home accessories series by Fritz Hansen, now available in new muted colours.
