Scandinavian Christmas Markets and events in London 2013

Dreaming of Lapland and travelling to the Winter Wonderland of Scandinavia this Christmas? In addition to meeting Father Christmas in person there’s also annual festive fairs in Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo. But there will also be some fantastic Scandinavian Christmas Markets taking place in London this year too…

There’s three large annual events that run on the same weekend in London, from 22-24 November; The Norwegian fair in Southwark, the Danish fair in Hampstead and the Swedish fair in Marylebone, all in aid of the churches and Scandinavian communities. Here are the dates and details:

The Norwegian Julemarked London
This years traditional Norwegian Christmas Market in London is a great chance to stock up on all your favourite Norwegian Christmas delights and decoration. We’d recommend you’d try the Norwegian Christmas speciality, Pinnekjøtt. They also sell Norwegian design, art and crafts products, that will make perfect gifts.
When: 22-24th November. Friday 11-6pm, Saturday 10-5pm and Sunday 12:30-5pm.
Where: Norwegian Seaman’s Church, 1 St Olav’s Square, London SE16 7JB. Admission £1.

The Danish Julebazaar London
This years Danish Christmas Bazaar in London is serving up with Danish treats of the season such as gløgg and æbleskiver. There’s christmas decorations, food and lots more. This is a very popular fair, so do go on Saturday, as they will sell out of your Christmas necessities such as natural pine tree wreath and garland for your fireplace.
When: 23-24th November. Saturday 11am-5pm and Sunday 11am-4pm.
Where: Danish KFUK, 43 Maresfield Gardens, Hampstead, London NW3 5TF. Admission £2.

The Swedish Julmarknad London
The Swedish Christmas Market in London is a three day Christmas extravaganza There’s everything you need to celebrate a Swedish Christmas, from food and cookies to decoration and presents. There’s live music and arguably the best gløgg (mulled wine) in town!
When: 21-24th November. Thursday 11-8pm, Friday closed, Saturday 11-6pm and Sunday 12-5pm.
Where: The Swedish Church, 6 Harcourt Street, London W1H 4AG

In addition to this there will be a Scandinavian Christmas Market in Notting Hill. In collaboration with the Swedish restaurant Lisa’s and children’s online shop Mayamin, Little Scandinavian will be hosting a one day only magical and festive event in 305 Portobello Raod. More information and details to come. But save the date, Thursday 28th November from 10am-8pm.
