Bridesmaids in Oslo in a Norwegian wedding

One of my closest friends in Oslo got married this Saturday and she had asked Little B and Little A to be one of her bridesmaids on her big day. And of course! The girls were delighted as it’s many a little girl’s dream isn’t it!?

Nowadays a wedding in Norway is very similar to both weddings in the UK and USA. Although some couple prefer to have more traditional Norwegian weddings wearing Norwegian costumes and bridal crown, celebrate with traditional food etc.
In some countries, such as Norway, it is customary for bridesmaids to be small children rather than grown women. They may carry flowers during the wedding procession, and pose with the married couple in bridal photos.

The day started with drizzle from the skye and lots of excitement in the air. The girls had new dresses and had their hair done, before we headed of to the church. Gathering with the other bridesmaids by the entrance before the stunningly beautiful bride arrived… The wedding could begin!
Beautiful music (some which was song by the brides sister) filled the church along with joy, love and happiness from friends and family, before the vicar pronounced the happy couple as husband and wife!

Fagerborg Kirke, (the church) is situated on leafy Norabakken in Oslo, Norway and was build in 1903 in a typical art nouveau style.

  1. Oh så himla festligt med bröllop och så fina tjejerna är! Saga var också brudnäbb i somras, tyckte dock att det var mindre kul;)
    Kram
