Little Duckling’s Spring Summer 2012 collection offers a fresh colour pallet with bright yellow, red and blue mixed together with more subtle colours of cream, sand and vintage rose. For the girls there’s adorable gingham dresses, as well as fine voile dresses with lovely ruffle details, knitted dresses and cardigans in soft cotton. For the boys there’s shirts and linen trousers with details such as contrast buttons and roll up tabs on sleeves and trouser legs, as well as gingham and solid coloured shorts and knitted jumpers and tank tops. Little Duckling is also introducing a fresh jersey collection in bright colours with two great prints; ducklings on their way to the beach with buckets and spades and children on a balloon ride. Little Duckling Founder & Designer Rosa Wiland was born near Copenhagen, Denmark in 1975. She studied ladies fashion design at the Danish Design College from 1999 to 2004,on achieving her MA she was awarded the prestigious National Bank Prize for the student showing the most potential. Thereafter she moved to London, where she worked as a fashion designer for the high street from 2004 to 2008.
After the birth of her daughter Frida in 2007 she started to look into the world of children’s clothing and found that the market needed a playful brand full of colour that combined the traditional English style with the influence of bright Scandinavian kid’s cloths. We met Rosa first time at Bubble London January 2010, when she was exhibiting with her AW11 collection. Rosa is such a genuine and lovely designer, presenting consistently great collections twice a year. She has her focus on details, comfort and great fabrics.
